Event Venue FAQ's
Your individual touches will make your rustic barn wedding like no one else's
How many guests can you accommodate?
The climate-controlled barn can seat 150 for a ceremony, or 150 maximum at tables. If you wish to do everything in the barn (eating, dancing, cake table, etc., the max is 100). The covered outdoor pavilion will seat 270 for ceremony seating or 180 at tables. If the weather is nice, an additional 80 guests can be seated at tables on the uncovered deck . If your event is larger, there is plenty of space to add a tent, and we can refer you to a reputable tent rental company.
Is the barn for the meal and the pavilion for dancing, or vice versa? Where would we have the ceremony?
That's up to you! Many of our guests like the idea of dancing outside on the pavilion, while others prefer the dancing to happen in the barn, where there is a/c. You may have your ceremony outside under an oak tree or facing the Christmas tree fields, under the covered pavilion, or you may prefer to have it in the climate-controlled barn. We will show you some options, then customize the setup according to your wishes. Yours will be the only event at the farm that day, and you can decide how you would like to use each space. We are happy to recommend setup designs for your number of guests and desired use of the spaces.
May we have an open bar at our event?
Yes. BYOB alcohol is allowed and must be delivered to the venue prior to the start of the event and must be served by a bartender. Friday, Saturday, Weekday, and Christmas Wedding Packages include a beer & wine bartender for up to 100 guests. If you wish to also serve hard alcohol, there is a charge of $200 per 100 guests.
A bartender is not included in the hourly rental & pop-up event packages. If alcohol is served, a Holiday Acres bartender will be provided for an additional fee of $200 for each 100 guests.
Holiday Acres will arrange for a security officer for every 100 guests. You must pay each security officer $175 cash on the day of the event.
Do you have parking on-site?
Yes, we have a very large grass parking area.
Must we choose from an approved vendor list?
You are free to choose your own vendors with the exception of the bartender and security officers, who will be provided by Holiday Acres. All caterers must be licensed by the state of Texas and insured and must provide a copy of their insurance certificate naming Holiday Acres as additional insured. The caterer must deliver the food, set up the buffet, provide servers, and cleanup.
Are you an all-inclusive venue?
We are not. At Holiday Acres, you will have the freedom and flexibility to hire the vendors you like or to DIY. We are happy to recommend trusted vendors to you. We can also recommend wedding planners to you who can help you keep track of the details and even save you money with their knowledge of area vendors.
Are there hotels close to the farm?
There are 2 tiny houses on the property that are available for rent. In addition, there is a moderately priced hotel in Manvel, and several hotel choices in Pearland, 15-20 minutes from the farm.
Do you have dressing areas for the bride and groom?
The 2 tiny houses are available for your use as dressing rooms. A bridal cottage is under construction.
Do you provide "Day Of" coordination?
We do not provide "Day Of" coordination, but we strongly recommend that you hire a coordinator. We have names of coordinators in the area that we can provide to you. A Holiday Acres venue representative will be on site during your set up time and during the event. The representative will help with any issues with the venue such as air conditioning, cleaning up spills, maintaining restrooms, etc., but will not be guiding the event in any way.
Are your facilities handicap accessible?
The barn, pavilion, and restrooms are handicap accessible.
Can we bring our pets?
Dogs on a leash are welcome at the farm! It is your decision as to whether you wish to allow dogs at your event. Guests must pick up any messes their dog creates in the picnic and play areas.
What if it rains?
With an indoor-outdoor venue, there must always be a plan A and a plan B. If plan A is an outdoor ceremony, but it's threatening to rain, the ceremony seating can be set up in the barn or under the pavilion, then "flipped" after the ceremony for reception seating. The pavilion is dry and comfortable, even on a rainy day.
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes. After paying the 20% retainer to reserve your date, you may make equal monthly payments of the balance. 1 month prior to your event, the remaining balance is due. You may pay all fees online with a credit card, or we can work with you to set up a different payment method.
