Field Trips, Groups, & Photographers
Do you charge for admission? No. There is no charge for admission, but the Holiday Acres facilities are exclusively for the use of our Christmas tree customers, weekday field trip groups, and those with paid photo session reservations. Regretfully, we do not have enough parking space, enough restrooms, or enough hay wagons to accommodate other visitors.
Can we take our family photos at the farm? Please see our 2016 Photo Session Policy . Absolutely no photo sessions on Friday & Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend or Saturdays in December!
What if we're there to buy a tree? Can we take photos at the same time? Yes. If you are purchasing a Christmas tree and want to take photos at the same time, you may. However, you may not bring in large props (anything that wouldn't fit in a tote bag) or interfere in any way with other customers or with farm operations (such as taking photos on tractor routes). You may not come here to take family photos during our business hours if you do not have a paid reservation and will not be purchasing a tree. If you will be using large props, please schedule a paid photo session reservation.
Can we just come hang out and let the kids play if we aren't buying a tree? No, we are sorry that we are unable to allow this. Due to limited parking, limited number of hay wagons, limited restrooms, etc., Holiday Acres facilities are only for the use of our Christmas tree customers.
Do you have plenty of trees? Our supply of choose & cut trees is limited this year. The 2011 drought caused us to lose all of our seedlings. 5 years later, those seedlings would be reaching 6-7' tall. Therefore, we have a shortage of trees in that size. To insure that we have nice sized trees in future years, we are only allowing the cutting of trees 5 ft. and over. It is likely that the fields will be closed to cutting early in the season. Please check the website before coming out to the farm for updates on tree availability.
What do I need to bring?A camera and your family! We provide saws, measuring sticks, and twine to tie the tree on your car. Some people like to bring something like a garbage bag or a sheet to lie on while sawing the trunk of the tree.
Do you have any 10 ft. trees? Yes. Some of the really big trees have a nice shape up to a point, and then they bush out. That's because they were too tall to reach with our trimming tools. If you cut down one of those trees, we'll be happy to trim the top up for you. Since large trees are older trees, they sometimes have some bare branches at the bottom. We can trim those off, too. Be sure to check the trunk to make sure the tree is straight before cutting it.
Groups (including birthday parties, family get-togethers, non-profit groups, or other organizations) cannot be accommodated on Saturdays. We have a limited number of picnic tables and hay wagons, limited parking, restrooms, and limited space in the play area.
The facilities are for the use of our Christmas tree customers only.
